The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
the floods have lifted up their voice;
the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
mightier than the waves of the sea,
the Lord on high is mighty!

For a psalm that begins with “The Lord reigns” and focuses on floods, it is important to get the spelling right ("reigns" not "rains")!How many storms have come and gone often leaving catastrophic damage in your lifetime? With the Weather Channel, storm-chasers, and Doppler radar for almost every population center in the country we have a front-row seat to more dramatic weather in a week than we used to see in a decade or maybe even a lifetime.
Why are we quick to blame God for all the catastrophic storm damage but not as quick to take him as our High King in
the calm?
In any event, whatever storm damage we might have suffered, whether from weather or from people, the Lord God is
mightier, and in him, there is both restoration and healing!
